2018 Calendar of Events


April 15 - Military Heritage Day.  Join us as we commemorate America’s military history and honor our veterans.  Various period reenactors will be on hand to interact with visitors, and special artifact displays will be on view, including a partial airframe from a WWII-era Douglas C-47 Skytrain.  There will also be hands-on activities for kids.  Program will open at noon with a memorial service for veterans. 12-4pm.  


April 22 - Annual Meeting.  Free to all Museum members!  This year’s speaker is our good friend and collections volunteer, historian Richard Pierce.  His presentation The Rest of the Story brings to light the little-known back stories of some of the most iconic moments in American history.  1pm.


April 26 - Friends of the Red Mill annual spring luncheon at Hawk Pointe Golf Club (4 Clubhouse Drive, Washington, NJ) featuring Alisa Dupuy portraying Queen Victoria.  $55 per person, reservations due by April 21.  11:30am.  To download your RSVP form and to see more information about the Friends of the Red Mill, click here.


April 28 - Ghost and Folklore Tour.  This fan-favorite takes place after hours in the dark. Hear all the stories of the spirits that are believed to haunt our buildings.  Includes private viewing of funeral-related objects from the Museum’s collection.  Not recommended for young children. Tours available at 8:00pm and 9:30pm.  Tickets are $15 for Museum members and $20 for non-members and are available for purchase here.


April 29 - Wheels for the Wheel car show to benefit our Water Wheel restoration.  Classics, Street Rods, Rat Rods, Imports, Trucks, SUVs or Muscle Cars - all hobby and collector cars welcome!  Vehicle registration is $18 per car.  Click here to register your vehicle.  Regular museum admission for spectators. 10am-3pm.


May 5 - 2nd annual Kentucky Derby Gala fundraiser at the Holiday Inn in Clinton, NJ.  Festive derby attire encouraged.  4-9pm. For more details and to purchase tickets click here.


May 19 - Retro Ride.  Join us for a scenic and leisurely bike ride through historic Clinton. Inspired by the famous Tweed Ride in London, participants are encouraged to bring your vintage or retro bicycle and wear your favorite styles to match your bike’s time period.  Food, music and vendors on site throughout the day.  Awards for bicycles, outfits and more. June 3 - 23rd annual British Car Day presented by the Austin-Healey Sports & Touring Club of NJ, featuring favorite British collector and antique vehicles.  To participate in the car show, download the registration form here.  All vehicles must be pre-registered.  Vehicle registration is $20 per car before May 23rd and $25 per car after May 23rd.  Spectator admission is $10 per person.  Car show runs from 10am to 3pm, rain or shine.

June 25-29 - Nature Camp.  Our nature program gives kids ages 6-12 the opportunity to learn about nature and have fun through hands-on activities including interactive games, experiments and observations.  Campers will learn about camouflage, bugs and more right here on our own beautiful grounds along the riverbank.  Week-long camp runs Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm.  For more information and to register your child click here.

July 16-20 - History Camp.  The many historic gems found at our museum transport campers age 6-12 to a time without modern conveniences.   Campers will learn how people in olden days lived, cooked, and played.  How did kids have fun before the internet? We challenge kids to forget the present and focus on the past, using fun interactive activities and authentic period games.  Week-long camp runs Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm.  For more information and to register your child click here.
